About Title

Bushy is the old deer park of Hampton Court and the second largest of The Royal Parks. It covers a vast area (445 hectares) and welcomes over two million visitors a year. Bushy Park may be the least known of the eight Royal Parks, but it has a fascinating history. From being the birthplace of modern hockey to housing General Eisenhower’s HQ during the planning and execution of D-Day, Bushy is an important London landmark that deserves to be cherished. Now, thanks to a grant of £4.5 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund, we can do just that.

To enable us to complete the many elements of this exciting project and to ensure that the funds are in place to maintain Bushy Park over the coming years, we need significant capital investment. To date, we have raised all but £575,000 of the £7.32 million needed to complete this project.

We are now seeking partners for the final elements. Whether you are an individual, business or other organisation, there is a wide range of sponsorship opportunities covering a variety of areas, some of which are outlined below.

Email us to find out how to get involved.

Arethusa Fountain This magnificent 17th century fountain was the centrepiece for Christopher Wren’s grand layout of the park. Restoration will repair the stonework and bronze statuary to bring the fountain back into full operation.

The Brewhouse Now a Scheduled Ancient Monument, this building once provided ale for the workers on Lord Halifax’s estate in the 18th century. Restoration work will repair its structure and transform it into a venue for exhibitions and visits.

Water Gardens These 18th century gardens were also created by Lord Halifax. Extensive renovation work will restore the trilobate shape of the largest pond, original illustrations of which have recently been discovered in the Hermitage in St Petersburg.

Woodland Gardens These magical 19th century-style landscaped gardens include the Waterhouse Plantation and the Pheasantry Plantation. Project work will re-instate lost features such as re-planting Fisher’s Pond, and create new waterfalls, a natural amphitheatre for summer performances and an American Everglade swamp. Click here for further information on dedicating a tree, shrub or area of the Woodland Gardens (planting begins in 2007).

Visitor Centre at Broom Clumps This wooded area will be the site for a new visitor centre including a tea pavilion and car park.
